SSHA Event Coordination
In alignment with University priorities and mission, in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (SSHA) we strive to provide excellent support for programs and events focused on educating students, featuring scholarship, building community, encouraging collaboration and generating visibility for the SSHA and UC Merced. The Events and Seminars office provides support in strategic guidance, event management, and logistical services for faculty-sponsored programs and events in SSHA.
Event support requests for Spring 2020 were due by Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
New! Implementation of an Extended Review Period: Jan 15th – March 1st
Event support requests received after the Jan 15th deadline will be reviewed upon receipt through March 1, 2020. In order to ensure resources (such as space, parking, hotels, etc.) are available, Event Support Requests that are comprehensive and large-scale should be received at least 6 weeks in advance. The review of each proposal will take into consideration capacity of workload, scope and date of the event, with a response as soon as possible to guide next steps.
Please note a few restricted dates for services. Given SSHA participation in large-scale campus events, the SSHA Dean Office has recommended that SSHA Events be on hold during these limited dates:
- Bobcat Day
- Saturday April 18, 2020
- Spring Commencement Ceremonies
- Saturday, May 16, 2020 - School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts
- Sunday, May 17, 2020 - School of Engineering and Natural Sciences
