Tony Hua is a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics and Business Management. His research is centered on the study of non-pecuniary or non-material incentives, specifically with regards to concerns for identity, self-image concerns, and social status as they relate to decision making under a variety of economic contexts. Much of his research is inspired by his time as a game designer, taking insights from how players behave within games and online communities and applying it towards a generalized theory of human behavior. When he is not working on his research, he enjoys designing and playing games of all sorts.
