Mercedes is a Central Valley native and spring 2022 graduate. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, receiving a degree in Psychology with a Natural Sciences Education minor. In her time at UC Merced, she was a member of the psychology club and Psi Chi. She was also a research assistant in the Social and Health Psychology Applied Behavioral Research for Promotion and Prevention (SHARPP) Lab. In her last year, she conducted research as an honors student in the Psychological Sciences Honors Program and earned highest honors recognition for her work. Currently, she is an intern for CalTeach, and conducting research on stress and mindfulness. Mercedes hopes to eventually attend a psychology graduate program and earn her PhD to continue researching topics such as stress, health education, and intervention accessibility.
