Jaqeline (“Jackie”) Castro is an Anthropology major, highly intrigued by sociocultural understanding of local communities. She will be going to the UCDC program in the Fall hoping to intern with an education based organization.
Jackie is a member of one of the campus modern dance troupes, Dance Coalition, and in ANTH 170 designed an ethnographic research project which examines how dancers on campus build community. She is interested in intersections of anthropology and policy especially related to youth development and civic engagement in the Central Valley.
