Grace is a first generation college student from Jackson, California. Her studies as an anthropology major have an emphasis on archaeology, and she plans on applying to graduate school and getting her Master's degree. After graduating, her goal is to go into a career as a cultural resource management archaeologist. Grace spent the summer of 2023 working through the Yosemite Leadership Program as the archaeology intern. From that experience, she learned that beyond protecting and recording sites, one of the most important and impactful things we can do as archaeologists is use our understanding of the past to educate people in the present.
