Employment and Internships
Maddy Institute Legislative Internship Program
The Maddy Institute selects up to 10 upper-division university students each year as Maddy Scholar-Interns. Interns are placed on assignment in government offices in Sacramento or Fresno. UC Merced students with at least 60 completed units (junior standing) and an overall 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply for the Maddy Institute Legislative Internship Program. A $1,000 scholarship is offered to those students accepted into the program. For more information on the program and to find deadlines for upcoming terms, please visit the institute's website.
SSHA Career Counseling offers students support in identifying internships that cultivate their skills toward future employment and graduate studies. Contact Academic Advising to learn more.
