New Instructor Orientation

SSHA New Instructor Orientation is held every August before the start of the fall semester. New instructors are provided with an overview of how the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (SSHA) functions, an outline of the specific functions of each SSHA Office, and information from various student and faculty service departments across campus. Instructors are also provided with reference materials, such as the New Instructor Handbook, to support their teaching. Week 1 - UC Merced Students and Teaching in SSHA

July 21st – Overview of SSHA and School Services

10:00am – 10:15am: New Instructor Meet and Greet – log on, say hi and settle in!

10:15am – 10:30am: Welcome to SSHA and Faculty Introductions (Dean Jeffrey Gilger)

10:30am – 10:45am: Overview of Orientation Weeks & New Instructor Handbook/Resources/Webpage (Angela Dixon)

10:45am – 11:00am: SSHA Graduate and Undergraduate Programs Overview (Associate Dean Anne Zanzucchi)
