Research Interest 

Professor Monroe's research primarily focuses on American political institutions, especially the U.S. Congress. Currently, much of his work focuses on the theory and practice of agenda setting and partisanship in the U.S. Senate. Other interests and projects include:

  • Election administration
  • Positive political theory
